Representing A Medical Group

Venue: Superior Court, Los Angeles County, California (2016)
Background: Our client medical group had a qui tam lawsuit filed by a former employee alleging billing fraud. 
Resolution: We filed early dispositive motions and had the entire case dismissed at the earliest stage. 

Venue: Federal Court, Central District, California (2015)
Background: Our clients consisting of two medical groups and physician owners were defendants in a RICO and false claims lawsuit. There were pending parallel criminal investigations. 
Resolution: Following a stay of the matter, we obtained a reject of the criminal prosecution. The civil federal matter was settled for a sum that was substantially less than the cost of defense.
